Anthem AVM90 8K is the latest 8k version of this 15.4 AV pre-amplifier/processor is the new flagship in the Anthem’s AVM range and features improved technology such as the latest version of ARC Genesis, a redesigned and more accurate calibration microphone, Anthem Web User Interface and a new modernized design; it brings all of today’s technologies into one stylish unit.
Why the AVM90?
The AVM 90 is the larger of the two Anthem pre-amplifiers/processors and has 15.4 channels of processing on-board. It has an upgraded set of DACs (32 bit/768kHz) coupled with a low noise Toroidal transformer that makes this processor more efficient and powerful, which is a big improvement over the older models. The AVM90 also has 2 more independent subwoofer outputs than the AVM70, resulting in the possibility to create a home theatre with up to 6 Atmos channels, 9 lower channels and 4 subs! This is an audiophile’s dream!
It has built in streaming support for Apple Airplay and Airplay2, Google Chromecast, Spotify Connect, Bluetooth and Roon; allowing you to choose from the many streaming options. Video support includes 7 HDMI 2.1 inputs with 2 outputs, independent zone 2 accessibility, plus eARC for seamless integration with smart TVs. Perfect pass through of Ultra HD signals at up to 18.2 Gbps with Dolby Vision, HDR, or Hybrid Log-Gamma ensures the optimal presentation of your visual media. Support for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and Imax Enhanced is also included plus it’s HDMI v2.1 8k upgraded.
Anthem Web Interface
The AVM90 comes with Anthem’s well-esteemed Web User Interface built in. Anthem’s Web Interface gives users the ability ultimate control over the setting and customization of the AVM90. Users can now easily access any function or setting and make changes with just the use of a phone, tablet or laptop!
After a quick device link users can get to renaming input channels, adjusting volume, changing audio modes and tweaking channel trims among many more customisations. The Web User Interface can also be used to calibrate speaker delays and levels and configure network settings/control options. And to top it off, system updates are now completed via the web, making the process a whole lot simpler!
Anthem Room Correction
Anthem AVM90 is compatible Anthem’s latest generation of ARC Genesis, currently the third generation, and is Anthem’s intelligent software that fine-tunes your audio settings to better fit your room. It works with Proprietary Digital Signal Processing (DSP) software that works in tandem with a calibrated microphone to provide improvements to the audio.
A common mantra among sound engineers, they all agree that the room is just as important as the gear you have as sound is greatly affected by room size and shape. So with the use of a microphone and some simple instructions you can fine-tune your system to get the best possible results for your room.
