The Quad ESL 2912 X represents the pinnacle of Quad’s electrostatic legacy. Launched following a comprehensive six-year review, the ESL X project—led by lifelong ESL expert Paul McConville, who re-engineered every aspect of panel production, including laser-precision metrology, refined spraying, etching, tensioning, and assembly.
Inside the Electrostatic Difference
The Quad ESL 2912 X features ultra-thin Mylar diaphragms, ten times thinner than a human hair. These are suspended between perforated stator plates and charged to over 5,200 V. This design ensures lightning-fast response, minimal distortion, and exceptional midrange accuracy.
Its concentric-ring electrode layout acts as a point source, enhancing stereo imaging and depth. The result is unmatched clarity, tonal precision, and an immersive listening experience.
