Grado Prestige 3 Gold cartridge is an award-winning cartridge, re-designed to offer even higher resolution, excellent tonal balance and better performance of vocals and instruments than the Grado Prestige Silver 3.
Gold Over Silver
The Prestige Gold 3 cartridges are selected from the Silver 3 production runs, which meet higher test specifications. Around 5% of the run have these specs and become a highly spec’d Gold 3 cartridge.
Prestige Gold 3 Design
The Prestige Gold 3 cartridges have a four-piece OTL cantilever technology, ultra-high purity long crystal (UHPLC) oxygen free copper wire in the coils and Grado's specially designed elliptical diamond mounted on a brass bushing. This design is developed to achieve a lower distortion, an improved soundstage, greater transparency and provides the ideal transfer of signal from the surface of the LP.
Coil Winding Techniques
Grado’s advanced coil winding techniques allow the electrical circuits to deliver unison between the four coils, which improves the precision of balance between channels and accurate stereo imaging. These are powered by a twin magnet system, which improves the balance between stereo channels.
Hand Assembled
The Gold Prestige 3 cartridges are all hand assembled by Grado’s team in Brooklyn, USA, with some builders having over 25 years of experience.

The construction of the diamond tip and cantilever is top class and there isn't the faintest hint of inner groove distortion. Surface noise is very low too.
