Description
The Ortofon OM Series encompasses three basic cartridges: OM5S, OM 5E and Super OM 5E. With its classic design, the OM moving magnet cartridge has been featured on innumerable hi-fi turntables over many years, and the latest range gives turntable owners easy access to great sound at an affordable price.
The OM Series is the lowest-mass range of moving magnet (MM) cartridges offered by Ortofon, and combined with their minimal design allowing for easy mounting and alignment and clear, loud output for easy pairing with a phono stage, they fully justify their "Optimum Match" (OM) name.
As well as being easy to fit to any tonearm/headshell system, all OM cartridge bodies also benefit from a tiny, removable weight above the mounting bracket. For standard tonearms, leave the weight in place as usual. For low-mass tonearms, you have the ability to remove the weight, reducing the cartridge weigh to just 2.5g.
