Description
The STB-HWX is the heavy weight variant of the STB-MSX, the heavient vinyl stabilizer on the market (at time of writing) when in full-weighted condition, in turn maximising the full tracking potential of your phono cartridge. Like its smaller brother, its made from 10 detachable parts with weight adjustable by changing the weights to fine tune the sound - a beautiful and effective vinyl weight.
Use with any turntable with an exposed centre spindle (that's most of the turntables available but we mention this for those that may use any obscure model where the centre spindle is covered for playback, as is the case when using some parallel tracking arms).
Why use a vinyl weight? Ever noticed how some vinyl doesn't lay perfectly flat? Many vinyl LPs are very slightly warped or bowed - sometimes only as much as a mm or two, but enough that the sound performance from your hi-fi phono cartridge can be greatly improved by making sure the vinyl is flat. Even if you're using an effective (higher friction) turntable mat, a weight will also help prevent slight slippage of your LP as it turns and maintaining better speed stability.
The 10 component parts of STB-HWX can be assemble/disassemble to adjust the sound (second picture above).
