Description
The Sennheiser HD620 S Headphones have a great value closed-back design. The sound is distraction-free, with an open, natural, and airy sound. Outside noise is diminished while the angled transducers produce the type of spatial imaging you usually only get with loudspeakers.
Next, the large earcups have soft artificial leather pads for all-day comfort. The headphones come with a 3.5mm terminated lead and a 6.3mm adaptor.
42mm angled drivers
The closed-back design of the Sennheiser HD620 S Headphones features 42mm angled transducers that sit in steel-reinforced earcups. Distraction-free listening is enhanced by the angled transducers that produce an accurate and involving soundstage.
Additionally, the ultra-light voice coil is designed to enhance clarity and accuracy. The headphones are comfortable to wear with steel-reinforced headband sliders. Additionally, the artificial leather earpads are vented for all-day comfort.
All-day comfort closed design
The large earpads offer all-day comfort. They also seal out external noise. The main advantage of closed-back headphones is that they block out any distractions. However, they can sound less natural than open-backed types that let natural sound through.
Sennheiser is renowned for its headphone design and the Sennheiser HD620 S Headphones have several features that make them sound more natural. This includes the angled drivers and lightweight voice coils.
Headphone amplifiers
Even budget headphones can be improved with a good-quality headphone amplifier. Often mobile devices have poor DACs that are not optimized for audio playback. As a result, several manufacturers make separate DAC/headphone amplifiers that plug into the charger socket of a smartphone.
Also, high-end headphone amplifiers have a low-noise design that is important when the drivers are so close to your ears. Lastly, some also have different sound modes that are specifically designed for headphones.
