It seems to happen regularly now that we are shown and get more and more truly incredible products through our door - products that make you start considering what you'd have to sell in order to own them yourself! I, and my bank balance, are able to confirm that Libratone is one of these brands.

Having not heard of the brand myself, I had no expectations or ideas what to expect when unboxing our demo stock from Libratone, but having been told they were ‘exciting products’ I was initially sceptical.

New products always generate a buzz here, we eagerly await new kit. The latest addition comes from a fantastic British company who manufacture some of the finest audio products available today: Cyrus. Cyrus have recently celebrated their 30th anniversary marked with the Anniversary system, a no expenses spared statement of engineering and indulgence, but where do you go from there, home? NO - you continue to innovate and reach new highs, I do not think it would be an understatement to say Cyrus learned

The beginning of the year is always a time to reflect on the previous - more so it is an opportunity to look to the future and in Hi-Fi that can only be a good thing! Constant advances in technology means the world of AV continues to evolve and change and improve our lives in many areas! If you are a techy like me then new kit breathes great excitement into you!

It's that time of year again folks, the What Hi-Fi awards have been released for 2013! Following the black-tie awards event (that we were invited to!) a couple of weeks ago, we can finally reveal the winners. Some surprising, some not so surprising (after all, a couple of items have won 2 or even 3 years in a row because they are fantastic products), but we're delighted to see these hi-fi and AV products being given the recognition they deserve.

Current we are seeing a lot of wireless and active speakers coming through the door - these are getting more and more popular

British Hi-Fi has always been a world standard, synonymous with high quality engineering and sound  - I personally started my journey into Hi-Fi under the wing of British manufactures, my first "proper" Hi-Fi consisted of a QUAD  303, 34 Pre and Bowers and Wilkins loudspeakers, later to be replaced by the irreplaceable ESL 57!  The British sound as it is sometimes described is sought universally, the export market for British brands arguably matches UK sales for some manufacturers if not exceeding

Certain speakers we sell mean I get a holiday, namely Acapella. When I say holiday, I may be slightly overstating things, but I get a trip away with them. Due to the sheer size and value, conventional couriers will not touch them, not even in the UK! They also require careful handling and setting up. This time I travelled with a pair of Acapella Violon MKVI – featuring Horn loaded mid range and Plasma Tweeters, a true audiophile reference speaker.
